YAY! For Narnia. No slash or incest...this time. Just regular feelings as they work their way through the bombing. This chapter is Susan's point of view. It takes place during a bombing raid, just so that you don't get confused. Here it is.
Pang!
Uh oh, Susan thought as she hurriedly ran up the open-staircase to find Lucy, torch in hand. Her mother was downstairs, collecting the boys and had sent Susan to get the youngest of them all. Failing to find her anywhere downstairs, Susan had decided to look for her upstairs. Knowing that she only had several minutes to get out of the house, the banging and explosive sounds that were coming from somewhere nearby motivated her to move faster.
Creeeeaaakkk!
Lucy's bedroom door opened, and Susan pointed the torch at her little sister's bed to find her lying there, with her hands over her ears. Sighing a deep sigh, Susan walked over to her and yanked her from the bed in a hurried angsty motion. Yelling for her to get a move on, Susan led the way down the stairs and met the others at the back door.
BOOM!
They all scurried out the door and ran to the bomb shelter, Lucy screaming and crying her block off. Susan sighed, yet continued to the shelter. Halfway there, Edmund stopped and yelled something about their dad, then ran back to the house and entered it. Peter took it upon himself to run after him as Mrs. Pevensie led the girls into the shelter and laid Lucy down on a sleeping pad.
BANG!
Peter and Edmund ran back into the shelter, Edmund falling into the door with a broken, framed portrait of their dad and Peter screaming his head off. Edmund began to cry to himself, and their mother told Peter to close the door. Susan looked up at her older brother and then back down at Edmund. For the first time in her life, she began to think of Peter as a monster.
PANG!
