Prologue
She looked over the shoulder of her savior.
Her eyes shown with the reflection of the dancing flames that engulfed the place she had called home.
"Princess are you alright?" her savior asked her.
She buried her face in his chest blushing slightly while her arms were still wrapped around his torso.
"Yes I am fine but I will never forget this horrible night" she whispered.
He looked down at her with sadness in his eye.
"Princess you must be strong even if the people closest to you perish" he told her calmly.
"...I guess you are right, but may I ask for a favor?" she asked him still not looking at him.
"But of course princess" he said.
"May you please stop calling me princess...i hate it when people call me that" she said.
"Then what shall I call you?" he asked.
"Kagome, just call me Kagome" she said
"Very well...Kagome" he said looking ahead.
Kagome still had her arms wrapped around him with one of her hands still holding on to the necklace, sword, and the sash that had belong to her brother.
'I will miss you all' she said in her mind as one final tear fell from her closed eye before sleep over came her and she fell into the darkness.
