Connecting The Dots

Author's Note: I recently saw Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, and loved everything about it. I was disappointed when I couldn't find any fanfic about it, so I decided to try my hand at some. This short blurb takes place before Taylor agrees to do the documentary, and some of Leslie's thoughts about her and his plans. Contains SPOILERS.
---------------------------
When Leslie clicked the send button on his hotmail email account, he couldn't help but grin. Soon Taylor Gentry, the pretty, intelligent, blonde grad student he'd been following for nearly three months, would receive an offer she most assuredly couldn't refuse. Getting to know the inside details of a serial killer's motives and the coveted tricks of the trade; this was an amateur journalist's gold mine, and a one-way ticket to the top.
He leaned back in his computer chair, hands clasped behind his head. His months of tedious planning, studying, and training would soon be at an end, and the flawless plan that he had concocted would finally go into play. Of course, nothing ever went perfectly, but fortunately his plan wasn't so binding that he couldn't make slight adjustments here or there if needed.
As an added bonus, he'd be able to be close to his chosen survival girl. He had grown tired of watching her from a distance; he'd wanted to approach her on more than one occasion; to hear her voice, to see if her pale skin would blush if his eyes met hers. How many serial killers could boast to spending one-on-one time with their victims? Not many. It would be easier for him; he was much better looking that the likes of Jason, Mike, or Freddie. Especially Fred. That guy was butt-ugly.
She would grow to trust him implicitly. And in return, he would show her everything. Failure on her part was not an option, and he would make sure to give her every advantage, every possible scenario, and mold her into the strong woman she would be reborn as. Perhaps it would be harder to go through with his plans in the end, if he became fond of her. If she agreed to this documentary and the series of intimate interviews, then she wouldn't be alone. She'd need a camera crew. At least there would be some boundaries between them. He didn't want this fragile meeting to get too close for comfort, too emotional.
And, how would it be for her? Would she like him in return? Would she choose to stay and fight, or had he misjudged the initial connection he had felt when he first noticed her? Ah, there was so much he yearned to know about her. But, there would be time for that. He'd been patient so far, and waiting a little longer wouldn't kill him.
The hotmail icon in the corner of his computer screen flashed, letting him know that he had new mail. He grinned again, unable to contain his own excitement. Maybe he'd be getting to know Taylor sooner than he expected.
