Author's Note: This is a poem from Cathy the elder to Cathy the younger.
Cathy
Cathy, I'm sorry,
I never should have left you.
You, growing up without a mother,
It's not fair.
I loved you with all my heart and soul,
Long before anyone knew you were coming.
I had been ill,
And everyone thought I was mad.
You were my reason for living,
My Edgar's child.
And I never wanted to leave you,
I forced against my will.
But, my Cathy, always remember,
Stick up for yourself.
Let no one push you around,
And Mummy loves you.
