Ultimate Pretend
ULTIMATE PRETEND

by Aubrey

In your eyes I see
Anger
At what they did to you,
Ready to explode.
As a child,
You harbored no hatred,
Only confusion.
But she has learned,
And so will you,
How to kill in anger.
As you teach her to unlearn, you learn.
How can you not see this,
This ultimate pretend
By you,
Against you?
If history extrapolates, and perhaps it will,
Will you be the learner
And she the teacher?
