Ianto Jones Harkness sat in the hospital waiting room with his Husband Jack Harkness Jones. Their daughter Lily rose was getting her tonsils out. Ianto glanced over at Jack and smiled faintly. He knew Jack was worried bout Lily getting the operation. Ianto knew the reason was that though out his lifetimes, he had seen people die from simple operations. He also knew that he loved their daughter dearly. Jack had his head on Ianto's shoulder.
"Think she will be Ok Yani?" Ianto took hold of his husband's hand "Yes Cariad, you heard the doctor. this is a simple.." But Jack fretted "Do you know how meny people i've lost due to "simple " operations? " Just then a nurse come out of the doors that they had just watched the hospital staff wheel Lily's cot through. "Mr Harkness ,Mr Jones?" The two men stood up. Before Ianto could say a word Jack jumped in " what is it? Is it lily. is she ok? theres something wrong isn't there." he turned to Ianto "See I told you she was too young. oh god if we lose her..." Ianto put his hand on Jack's arm.
"Jack calm down. I am sure there's wrong." He looked at the nurse "There isn't is there?" he felt Jack's arms holding him up. " Oh no , there is nothing wrong. I was just wondering if i heard your daughter right. She said the cutest yet strangest thing before she went under." Ianto and Jack looked at each other as Ianto cleared his throat. "How strange?" lanto tried to remember if he had brought retcon with him. He wondered what lily had told this woman.
The nurse smiled at the two men "I noticed the dolly she has was dressed in a long black tight dress. I said to her Lily Your barbie dolly is very pretty what is her name. She looked at me sleepily and i think she said Mortisha." She looked at the two men who had looks of surprise and amusement. "But that couldn't be right could it." As Jack sat down Ianto looked at the nurse. " Yes, the Dolly's name is Mortisha." The nurse stared at them "Why on earth would she name such a pretty dolly that?" Jack flashed her the thousand watt Harkness smile and shrugged"Cause Barbra just didn't seem right."
ok i don't own Jack or Ianto but i do own lily and i own the story of the doll. i was about 5 when i got my tonsils out and i had a Mortisha barbie doll that my gran and my mom got me ( i was a huge Adam's family fan my gran made the dress) and a nurse did ask my mom if she heard me right. and mom told her yes that was her name.
