A threat had been recognized towards the cat tribe. A bad storm was said to hit. One that would destroy dens. And this pissed Munkustrap of. It certainly wasn't the first time he was running around finding scared kittens all over the junkyard. And his brother Rum Tum Tugger was just sitting on his arse, making the queens laugh, as he ran around frantically, trying to fetch every last of the hysterical cats to the clearing as to where they gathered for the Jellicle ball.
When Munkus had just sat down, almost certain he got everyone, Demeter asked him;
"Where's Pouncival?" Munkustrap scurried up. Pouncival was one of the smallest kits and that might be the reason as to why Munkustrap had forgotten him. Maybe he'd just mistaken Pouncival for one of the cats gathered near Jennyanydots.
Munkustrap went to his brother, pulling him from his fanclub.
"We're missing Pouncival, goddamnit", Munkus told his brother, "You go fetch him".
"So you forgot the smallest of us then huh?" Tugger asked, fixing his mane, glaring at his brother, then leaving to find a most likely very shaky and scared-to-death kitten.
Well nothing could be made too easy, Tugger thought to himself, as he left Pouncival's den. The little cat had probably left it in panic. Though, he was old enough to know where to go in these situations. That made Tugger wonder. So he just crept on trying to find any sign of the little kit. Soon enough he heard a miserable meow from a dustbin just about ten meters away. Tugger opened the lid and looked in, there was the missing cat.
"Come on Pounce, everyone else is already at the clearing", Tugger gave his hand to the white and brown cat. Pouncival took the hand and Tugger could feel him shaking.
"Tu-Tugger", Pouncival said, shakily. The elder cat held Pouncival close, as they started making their way to the clearing
"I can't understand how you would forget him. You can't forget something as cute as that!" Tugger said to his brother, angrily. Pouncival was sitting with Jenny, as she was comforting him, as Pouncival mumbled about how scared he was if no one had found him and he'd have gotten caught in the storm.
"Cute? Tugger, he is younger then you. Much younger. Just a Kitten", Munkustrap said, knowing where his brother's mind was going.
"That wasn't the point. Munkus, don't forget him next time. He's the one who will panic the most. Just LOOK at him!" Tugger said, hissing.
"Well excuse me. Fetch them all yourself next time, if it's so important to you", Munkustrap said, making a face. Tugger hissed at Munkus one last time and then left for the only private place in the yard. The bed that had the open-and-close roof. He settled on the bed and soon caught sleep.
Though that didn't last long, as he woke up to something small, hairy, shaking and meowling on his side.
"Wha?" Tugger asked, still almost in full sleep.
"I had a nightmare", a pitiful voice, belonging to Pouncival said. The kitten had rolled into a ball, as small as possible, and as close to Tugger as possible. Tugger wrapped his long arm around Pouncival, to calm the cat.
"There, there", Tugger said, voice still hoarse from sleeping, "Nothing's wrong, it's just a bit of wind outside, I'll protect you", Tugger was hald asleep, as the other shook.
"You will?" Pouncival asked, almost tearing.
"For sure", Tugger answered and then reached down to press their noses together, rubbing them together slightly. Pouncival got confused for a moment but felt himself calm down to much needed sleeo, even before Tugger had reached sleep.
