To say Kurt was worried about his boyfriend would be an understatement. It was exactly two years to the day of the Sadie Hawkins dance. Blaine had been very upset the night before, and told Kurt all about it. He also told Kurt that the other boy died from his injuries.
"It was all my fault! I shouldn't have tried to hold his hand. I should have fought them better. I should have tried to protect him," Blaine sobbed. Kurt rocked him back and forth.
"Shh… It wasn't your fault. You're okay. Shh…," Kurt comforted Blaine as best he could, holding back tears.
It killed Kurt to know that Blaine blamed himself for what happened that night. Kurt tried for a long time to convince Blaine that it was not his fault, but he wouldn't listen. Kurt was now walking to Blaine's dorm to see how he was feeling this morning.
"Morning, Kurt. You going to check on Blaine?" Nick asked.
"Yes. How was he when you left?"
"He's still pretty upset, but you're the only one he'll talk to," Nick shrugged.
"K, I'll go see how he is then," Kurt continued, leaving Nick to go about his business.
Kurt was about to knock on the door when he hear a guitar being played. He slowly cracked the door open to see Blaine sitting on his bed with his guitar in his lap. Blaine didn't see his boyfriend standing by the door.
When the stars line up
And you catch a good break
People think you're lucky
But you know its grace
It can happen so fast
Or a little bit late
Timing is everything
You know I've had close calls
When it could've been me
I was young when I learned just how fragile life can be
I lost friends of mine
I guess it wasn't my time
Timing is everything
And I could've been the child that God took home,
And I would've been one more unfinished song
And when it seems a rhyme is hard to find
That's when one comes along
Just in time
Kurt listen to the song with tears streaming down his face.
I remember that day
When our eyes first met
You ran into the building to get out of the rain
Cause you were soaking wet
And as I held the door
You wanted to know my name
Timing is everything
And I could've been another minute late
And you'd never would've crossed my path that day
And when it seems true love is hard to find
That's when love comes along
Just in time
Blaine knew he was so lucky to have found Kurt, and that together they could overcome any obstacle.
You can call it fate
Or destiny
Sometimes it really seems like it's a mystery
Cause you can be hurt by love
Or healed by the same
Timing is everything
It can happen so fast
Or a little too late
When the song ended, Blaine set his guitar by the bed, and Kurt shot himself at his boyfriend. Blaine was surprised and more than a little startled at first, but when he saw it was Kurt his heart melted. They sat there on the bed for the rest of the morning, each holding onto the other. They knew everything was alright as long as they had each other.
Timing is everything
A/N – Song: Timing is Everything by Garrett Hedlund
This is shorter that what I would normally write, but I hope you liked it. Please review.
If you have a song you would like to read a 'Klaine song-fic' of (other pairings are welcome to, but I can't guarantee they will be written.), then please tell me, and I will see what I can do. Any story suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Thank You.
