Disclaimer: Nope, don't own.

A/N- so. I realize how strange a pairing this is and I totally pair Kensi with Deeks too- BUT there was an episode where, at the end Deeks was trying to get everyone to go out for drinks and Callen agreed to go cause Sam was going (or the other way around) and then Eric agreed and Deeks' face just lit up and this pairing whacked me over the head. XD so- I'm going to write it and post it and giggle when I see them on screen because it makes me happy :) And even if it is strange- I hope it brightens your day too.

"I need to ask you an important question." Eric leans over the desk, hands planted firmly apart and apparently without the hand held computer he carries everywhere. Deeks takes this all in, the serious look on the other mans face and sits up straighter, because whatever this is, is clearly important. "And this question, being what it is, could really decide our future relationship." Deeks feels the corner of his mouth curl into a half smile at the word and viciously kills it before Eric notices it.

Thankfully the tech is too caught up in whatever life or death question he wants to ask to notice Deeks slip and keeps talking.

"Because, let me tell you, if you say the wrong thing then there really isn't a future for us and we'll be resigned to being those co workers that nod when they see each other in the hall and make small talk at the holiday parties."

"We have holiday parties?" Deeks can't help but ask.

"Memorable ones." Sam speaks up, seated at his desk, feet up and watching the conversation with avid interest. Deeks thanks whoever might be listening that Kensi and Callen are off somewhere else and can't join in. Because seriously, they're great but lately they seem set on embarrassing him in front of a certain tech geek.

Eric rolls his eyes and ignores Sam.

"Okay, shoot." He says and pushes the paperwork he's been (procrastinating) working on for most of the morning.

"Do you like deep fried Mars bars?"

Deeks blinks and feels suspiciously let down. He tilts to the side, just to make sure that Sam heard the same thing he did, but the other agent has his head tilted down and is laughing silently to himself, so clearly he has.

"Um," Deeks leans back and finds Eric watching him expectantly. And seriously? How can he say no to that look? It should be illegal. "Yes?" He says hesitantly even though he's never had one before and is kind of terrified of the idea.

"Great!" Eric stands and claps his hands together and his entire face lights up. Deeks feels rather pleased that he put the expression there. "Cause I know this place down by the water, makes the best deep fried Mars bars, you'll love it."

"Sounds awesome." Deeks doesn't even have to fake the smile spreading across his face- Eric's enthusiasm is contagious.

"Maybe we could go after work?" Eric calls over his shoulder as he bounces off towards the stairs.

"Sure!" Deeks calls back and Eric waves as he takes the stairs two at a time and disappears from sight. He watches him go with a wide grin on his face and a warm feeling spreading through his body.

"Mars bars?" Sam asks, disbelief colouring his voice. "You've never actually eaten one, have you?" But even his scepticism can't kill his mood.

"Nope." Deeks shrugs and decides to look into finding a place at lunch that sells them so he at least knows what he's getting into. "But that's not the important part."
