The white haired ninja stood perched precariously atop a tree, the worn orange book that she usually had her nose buried in now resting stowed away in her weapons holster safely. Jumping down, she landed by the small lake below and decided to rest there for the night as it was getting dark, having being on her way back to the base from a mission that was barely considered challenging for a shinobi of her caliber, child's play really. She ran a hair through her snowy white locks in exhaustion as she removed her hitae-ate, a long scratch over the symbol etched into the metal, as all rogue ninja who hadn't discarded their headbands already sported. 'Konoha..' Taeru thought absentmindedly while tears pricked in the corners of her golden/almond orbs, hissing when she had to wipe them away with her forearm furiously after removing the black and red cloak that she wore some time earlier.
"Dammit. You're fourteen, Tae. One year since that bastard dragged you away from Konoha. Get over it already." She cursed under her breath and sat by the riverbank, washing dried blood from her blackened nails then sighed, beginning to start the fire as the sun was nearly set, running her thumb over the long jagged scar over her right eye nostalgically.
"Sulking about it won't help, you know. When you'll learn to suck it up and move on is beyond me."
A smooth voice from the depths her mind purred almost tauntingly, yet held the most microscopic tints of pity for it's host, the demon wolf swaying it's ten huge tails in it's rather cramped cage, only allowing it to stretch a few limbs now and then but that was it. 'Tsk'ing under it's breath as it shook it's head, letting an exasperated groan out.
"Shut up Lucifer. Your kind wouldn't understand human emotions."
Taeru hissed in response, not even flinching when a looming figure in an all black cloak materialized in front of her, an almost pitiful smile in place on his hooded features as he stared down his jinchuuriki, actually looking quite dashing in his human form behind his cover up.
"My dear vessel, I've been alive long enough to know what to expect when it comes to you fragile humans." The bijuu smirked, brushing a few strands of her soft hair out of her pale face with his lithe fingers, a small smirk playing at the corner of his mouth.
"Just go back into your cage already. I hate you."
"My, my. Someone's rather irritable today, isn't she? As you wish, jinchuuriki, but just remember, because of that seal, I, Lucifer Velnias am bound to you until either one of us dies, and you know well enough who's going first. Live your life well and live it without regrets. You've only just left the binding chains of your former village, though you're in this organization, nothing prohibits you from doing as you wish. You are free to do whatever you want, destroy any obstacles in your way of achieving your dreams, kill as many enemies you want for vengeance. That partner and former team mate of yours certainly won't stand in your way. He seems to have his own problems as it is. The world is yours so long as this leader doesn't get wind of it and even so, so what if he kills you? You'd like that to happen, wouldn't you? You'd finally be free of me, no?" The demon sighed in mock woe at the lack of response from the girl in front of him uttering a final sigh before disappearing into the confines of his cage within the girl, remaining silent for the remainder of the day, hearing the small murmur escaping the kunoichi's lips but chose against commenting.
"All I want.. is peace."
