AN: I've had this idea spinning around for a while and thought I'd finally give in. I know this isn't Wendy Darling but I've always had the thought she might have a descendent who looked liked her. So please read and maybe review.

The house that had once belonged to the Darling family was now the home of the Mathews family and grandmother Margaret. The Mathews family consisted of Troy Mathews, a business man who was overworked and although he loved his family he spent very little time with them. Moira Mathews was a beautiful young woman who was a child at heart. A trait many of the women on her side of the family had. Then there was their seven year old daughter, Wendy. She was named after her the one who started it all. She currently possessed the child like innocence as all before possessed and she loved hearing of stories of Peter Pan and his adventures. Grandmother Margaret was the granddaughter of the original Wendy. Although old and fragile she still looked like she could put up a fight.

In the nursery, pillows and blankets were gathered around to form a ship.

"This time Pan you will not escape my Hook." Moira said imitating the villainous Captain Hook and attempted to plunge a wooden toy sword at the young Wendy portraying Peter Pan.

"We shall see old man!" Wendy's impression was completely off making Peter sound more like her. But she was still just a child. She dodged the sword and pretended to fly by jumping into the air and stabbed Hook.

"And as Peter's sword wounded the Captain he flew off with the Lost Boys and his laugh was still heard." Moira narrated.

The only thing missing was the father figure. He was working downstairs. Unlike his wife and daughter he did not possess any inner child. He believed everyone should grow up and thought Peter Pan stories were a waste of time. Children never growing up? Preposterous. He did not want his daughter's mind to be filled with fairy tales but his wife never stopped. As he signed a paper he became startled as the phone rang. Troy answered the phone and nodded and replying with "yes", "alright" and all sorts.

Margaret and Moira quietly tidied up the room as Wendy had fallen asleep. They could hear the phone ring and Troy answering it. Moira came downstairs to see what the news was.

"Has something happened?" She asked curiously.

Her husband smiled as he looked at her. "I've been given a promotion." He said excitedly.

"That's wonderful." She said proud of him and ran into his arms.

"Yes and I'm getting transferred." He added. This seemed to have caused her mood to change from happiness to concern. "Where?" She blinked slowly releasing him.

"To America." He replied.

As happy as she was for him she had someone else in mind. "What about Wendy?"

"She'll adjust."

"That's not what I meant. She wants to wait for Peter Pan. If you take her from here she will miss him."

"How can she miss him when she has never met him. And he doesn't even exist." He said.

"He does and it means everything to Wendy. Don't take that away from her." Moira pleaded. Peter had not yet still visited her window and if she was to leave he would miss her. He was always drawn to this house and what would happen if he came to find an empty bed?

"This could be the best thing that has ever happened to us. You and Wendy need to grow up. Stop believing in this nonsense and be glad our life is finally turning around." He gripped her shoulders.

Moira fell silent for a moment and finally nodded.

"Oh Moira. What have you done?" Margaret said from atop the stairs and she turned to face the door to the nursery.
