Mike Schmidt was stressed. This was nothing new, working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria tended to do that to you. Working nights, sleepless days, and all for what? A measly $120 for 30 hours of work. It was about 4am on his fourth night. His usual phone call had been upsetting to say the least. All week, some guy had been phoning him giving him tips on how to get through his shift, tonight started off the same. He chatted away, giving Mike the sense that he wasn't alone, then the unthinkable happened. The phone call cut out, a strange banging was heard and screeches filtered through the phone's speakers. Mike hadn't the heart to play the message back, he knew he had just heard the last words of the only guy who really understood him.

The night didn't get any better, the animatronics were teasing him causing Mike to drain his power so much quicker then normal. A quick look at his power meter told him he was sitting a 30%, there was no way he was going to make it.

He sighed and jumped when he heard footsteps outside his right door. He didn't bother checking his lights, only closed the door and then checked the monitor. Foxy's curtain was closed and Freddy was still on stage. He didn't bother checking for the others it just consumed power, as long as the bear and fox were place he was fine. With the monitor checked, Mike finally checked the lights. Chica, for it could only have been Chica was gone allowing Mike to open up the door again. A check to left also revealed nothing, so with both doors clear Mike resumed the tedious task of checking lights and cameras.

Either he was so preoccupied with his routine that he didn't hear her until it was too late or he had allowed him self to be swept into a false sense of security. It was 5.45am, Freddy and Foxy were both in thier respective places, Foxy had visited him some twenty minutes or so and the others hadn't been seen or heard from since Chica's visit almost two hours ago.

He hadn't checked the lights in a while, preferring to conserve the 5% power he had left, however he checked them now to be met with the right side being jammed. The door wouldn't close, the light wouldn't turn on, it was then Mike knew he had made a mistake.

He turned around in his chair to find the bright yellow chicken staring down at him. Her cupcake on her wing. Silently she leant forward, causing Mike to yelp in surprise and cower in his chair. Mike thought this was it, this was the end. Death by Chicken! Mike squirmed as Chica moved closer and closer finally reaching out and passed him.

Mike held his breath as Chica withdrew her wing from behind his head. Nestled there completely innocent was the cupcake that lived on top of the monitors. Standing up straight again she glanced down at Mike before looking at the two cupcakes on her wings. Slowly she brought them together and made them kiss, just like a child would do with two dolls, before she turned and walked out of the office.

Mike let out the breath he had been holding and let out an agonised sob. All that stress for a cupcake! The 6am chimes came soon after Chica's departure and on his way out of the building, he glanced over at Chica, she was still holding the cupcakes but she seemed less scary somehow, to Mike, she almost looked like a child.

A/N - My sister told me this theory of hers on a two hour flight from London back home. She originally said that cupcakes were a distraction and Mike was still going to be killed at the end, but I liked the thought of Chica's "inner child" coming out. - Haha Inner Child... see what I did there? Any way, that's that, not really much to it, this is also on my tumblr - just in case you wanted to know.
