Chapter 1:
Me?
I looked around nervously.
I was trapped! One of them crept up to my side.
I jumped away, but another one grabbed me. "No!" My eyes flashed open.
Sweat was pouring from me, and my hand was shaking.
What happened to me?
Then I remembered and shivered.
Where am I?
I looked around at the extremely familiar surroundings.
Where in the world am I?
Suddenly, a nurse came in.
I closed my eyes immediately to make it seem as if I was still sleeping, but it didn't work.
"Trying to fool me, eh?" the nurse said.
She looked down at the clipboard she was holding and then gasped.
She started taking a step backwards.
"No, that can't be! That can't be right! A girl can't…" the rest of the words were to fumbled for me to make sense of them.
She then seemed to recover because her shivering stopped.
She stepped toward me and reached over and patted my head.
"You look just like….just like…" The nurse kept fumbling over her words.
She shook her head and got a bottle filled with these red objects that kept changing shape.
She took one out and put it gently in my mouth.
I looked around wildly then swallowed.
My eyes clouded and closed. Black, soothing, refreshing… I snuggled right in.
It was the strangest thing.
I felt comfortable in my new surroundings.
