Ingredients to make a strong woman break.

You will need:

1 Stressful job.

"Mrs Beauchamp, major RTC concerning a school coach and an exploded petrol tanker."

"Guy Self needs an urgent word."

"Don't forget the trust's inspection is next week!"

"It's been brought to my attention that our F2's don't know how to use the new IV pump in resus."

"Connie I need those papers signing today."

"We're out of pillow cases again!"

1 team of loathing staff.

"She just angers me so much."

"Connie doesn't give a damn about understaffing, fatigue- we need to make a stand!"

"I want to be just like Mrs Beauchamp someday." "What, scary?"

"She's such a bitch sometimes."

"Oh no, there's two of them!"

"She's here for her own personal gain, nothing else. Look sharp Zoe."

1 troublesome daughter.

"What? Suspended?"

"You've been expelled? You've already been expelled from one school, what's wrong with you Grace?!"

"It has been brought to my attention that Grace is not receiving the care she needs."

"I want to live with grandma."

"If you are not on this bed then you are NOT my priority!"

"Did the little lady get off to America ok?"

1 beloved patient.

"Alfred Maxwell. I'm a retired cardiothoracic surgeon."

"Mrs Beauchamp. I am delighted to see you."

"Someone asked you to look out for me didn't they. She. Connie Beauchamp."

"I was embracing life with reckless abandonment."

"Oh Connie, I wanted to have some fun!"

"I can't even move my fingers anymore."

A dash of hope.

"We're about to start a course off antibiotics to combat the pneumonia."

"Let's get him better first shall we."

"I'd like to make sure his last days are as comfortable as possible. Is that too much to ask?"

"It may just be temporary."

"Don't you dare give up."

"We'll fight this together."

A man's weight of death.

"I'm frightened."

"I can't move anything anymore"

"I wanted to choose the manner of my own death."

"I need you to help me."

"Charlie, I didn't do anything I swear!"

"You set her up Rita."

.

Connie lay on her back in bed, looking up at the ceiling at the dark night encompassed her home. Her room was silent and still, almost overpowering after the recent events she'd been through. The woman's eyes were full of tears, but her soul remained empty, except for the overwhelming sadness that didn't seem to want to leave. Her life had become meaningless- and there was no-one, nothing that could change that.

Connie Beauchamp had finally, truly broken.
