Disclaimer: I do not own Wendell the walrus. He is a character in Animal Crossing and owned by Nintendo.

Pleasing Picky Wendell

A renowned painter passes by.

You want to get his autograph.

You approach the painting walrus,

and you notice he looks famished.

You decide to get him some food.

So you run to the nearest tree,

and shake it again and again,

'til an apple falls at your feet.

Carrying the precious apple,

you march over to the walrus.

Hoping he'll like the offering,

you dream of a Wendell-brand wall.

You place the apple at his feet,

and look up with a dazzling smile.

Some wallpaper will be worthwhile,

you think as he picks the fruit up.

He gobbles it up in five seconds,

and you grin and expect the best.

But he informs you that your food,

was so absolutely awful.

You stagger away in a daze,

wondering what could have gone wrong.

Why aren't you walking away,

with rare wallpaper in your hand?

Your failure makes you determined,

and you set out to find good food,

for the famished painting walrus.

You will get that wallpaper soon!

You soon come across an orchard,

filled with many peaches galore.

You grab a peach and scramble back,

to see if it suits Wendell's taste.

Again he gobbles the fruit up,

and again he doesn't like it.

You sigh and think of giving up.

But then you find a yummy pear.

It was nearby a neighbor's house,

"They won't need it," you say aloud.

You snatch it and go see Wendell.

Again he expresses distaste.

Giving up you decide to fish,

so you grab your rod and your reel,

and head over to the seashore.

You cast out and wait for a bite.

Later a fish nibbles the bait.

You reel in the fishing line and,

as you hoped you have caught a fish.

A sea bass to be so precise.

You start to take your catch to Nook,

when suddenly you have an idea.

You rush once more to the artist,

and offer Wendell your sea bass.

He eats it raw (how disgusting!)

But he hands you what you've longed for.

And happily you walk away,

with autograph and wallpaper.

You will never forget Wendell,

and every* time you see art,

you will think of the blue artist,

who spared for you some of his art.
