A/n: Hi everyone! This story is based off a character sent in by SlyFox17 and I was going to write a diffrent story about the characters I got send in my SYOC but I liked this idea, so I'm going to do a new sory about Rosalia. Thanks very much to my sister who helped with the spelling and stuff! Hope you like it and please review!

Chapter 1 – a New Beginning

The wind howled around me as I crossed the parking lot to where I'd parked my red Mercedes. Opening the trunk, I tossed in the black duffel bag containing all my stuff before crossing round to the driver's side and getting in. It was 8.30 in the morning and I was just leaving the motel I'd been staying in on the outskirts of Seattle. Now it was just a short drive to Forks where I hoped to meet up with an old friend of mine.

As I adjusted the mirror in the car I caught a glimpse of my reflection- a pretty girl with delicate features, smooth olive skin and icy blue eyes. My chocolate brown hair framed my face in windswept girls and I reached up to try and fix some of the tangles that the fierce weather had caused. The rain beat down on the windshield as I pulled out of the parking lot, and to try and drown out the noise I turned on the stereo where I had my iPod plugged in. The first few bars of Lacuna Coil's song Senzafine sounded in the car as the iPod begin to play. I sang along with the song in Italian as I drove- the band were from Italy, like me, but it had been a long while since I'd been there.

I drove on for a while, meeting the highway before turning off to find myself driving along winding roads through the forest. I hadn't been here before, but I had a good sense of direction and knew where to go. A short time later I passed a sign saying "Welcome to Forks" and knew I'd arrived in the town. Somewhere here would be where I'd find Carlisle. After everything that had happened to me this past year I needed a friend I could rely upon, and Carlisle was the only person I could think of who could help me. The Cullens had once been like family to me and family was what I needed now, so I hoped that maybe this time I could stay with them for good. I'd heard rumours that the Cullens had settled in Forks, Washington and so I'd turned up to find them.

I didn't know exactly where their house would be and Carlisle wasn't expecting me, so I decided to park the car and get out to see if I could pick up his scent or that of any of the other Cullens. Even for a vampire my sense of smell was particularly sharp. As I got out I glanced around at the town where I hoped I would find my new beginning, hoping that the rain and dreary weather wasn't meant to be a sign of things to come.
