He could fight this. He had to fight this! But how could he when he didn't even remember his own name? Who was the woman aiming her gun at him and pressed against the wall. It started with an A right? Or was it a C? She was dressed in red and black, or at least that's what his mind kept telling him. His right side was burning, splitting apart and pulsating down to claw like fingertips. Piers was trapped in his mind and in the body of a monster that he lost control over. What had they been doing before he lost control? Left eye scanned over the bedroom. They had been talking to one another…And now this. He shook his head again to try and regain control, to fight this infection. The sound of a gun being cocked back resonated in his ears and sent his anger full blown again.

He charged forward across the room, electricity blazing and teeth bared. The coquette felt her heart pounding against her chest for reasons that wasn't fear for her life, but his very own. He swore he would never lose control to harm her in any way. But now she was watching him dash towards her. Ada closed her eyes and fired multiple times. Piers snarled out, infected arm raised and claws slammed into her mid-section. A low groan of pain and a dying mew left Ada's bloodstained lips. She didn't think he would…Didn't think he would ever…

"Piers.." She gasped looking down at the claws retracting from her flesh, coated with crimson. Her blood was literally on his hands. Now not being supported she fell forward and surprisingly was caught in the monster's arms. He frowned, a roar that turned into a human sorrowful scream. Piers sank to his knees, ignoring the calm smile his beloved gave him. The virus faded back into the shell of a broken man. She reached a hand up to stroke his cheek lovingly, opening her mouth to speak. "I-It's okay…I should have known..better…"

"No Ada! Please! I'm sorry, so sorry!" Piers rambled but Ada rested two fingers on his lips to cease it. Sable eyes misted over as they closed. He no longer heard the thumping of such a valiant heart, no longer saw those eyes that told so many stories. Would never hear that voice that made his heart skip beats. Piers shook her as hard as he could, tears dropping from his eyes. "Don't leave me Ada! Please don't…Leave me alone." The last words was broken as the choked sob came through finally. Piers cradled her to his chest, lips pressed to her hair. He rocked her like a baby for what seemed like hours.

His eyes flew open suddenly, dried tears stained his cheeks. The hotel room was still intact and the coquette was still curled up on his chest sleeping peacefully. Piers let out a shaky breath at the nightmare he had just been through and wrapped his arm around her just to make sure she was real. Maybe it was a sign…Maybe the virus was fucking with his mind. Or maybe his greatest fear was toying with him.
