A/N: Hello, there! Not really much for me to say here, actually. But, I hope you enjoy it and excuse any errors I might've made.

It was quiet when they were together despite of Jean's talkative nature. He can't explain it but he enjoys the silences he has with Marco. Sometimes they would exchange a few words but not often.

Jean would never understand why some of the other members of the 104th squad would gawk at him when he talked to Marco. Couldn't he just talk to Matco without everyone talking about them? When other squad members walked by, he could hear them talking about him.

"What is Jean doing?" They'd whisper.

"Who is he talking to? There's no one there." They'd say.

"Poor guy. He must be torn over Marco's dea-" That one's unimportant.

"Jean?"

He looks over at Marco who was looking up at the sky. His eyes seemed to be glued to the sky these days. It's almost as if he longs to go there. "Yeah?"

It was silent again but this silence was uneasy. There was something Marco wasn't voicing, something important. "You have to let me go at some point. You know that, right?"

Jean furrowed his brow."What are you talking about? I'm not grabbing your arm or anything."

Marco gave him a sad smile and stood, looking down at Jean."You can't accept my deat-"

"Don't you dare finish that sentence, Marco. Don't." Jean stood too, his eyes a wild mix of emotions and thoughts he didn't want to face. Those words drove him insane. Why did every talk about Marco like that? Like he doesn't exist anymore?

"Goodbye, Jean," He took a step back, his voice nothing more than a soft caress against Jean's cheek.

Jean watched in horror as Marco began to lift into the sky, slowly unraveling from the bottom up, his body disappearing in the wind. He reached his hand down as if he were going to grab Jean and take him with him to the infinite skies above. He wished desperately that he would.

"See you on the other side."

His face unraveled slowly and Jean could see the smile in Marco's eyes before they were gone forever, not a trace left behind. Jean didn't notice the tears slipping down his face nor did he notice his outstretched hand towards the sky. All he knew was that there was a void that would never be filled.

"I'll see you again, Marco."
