Dean was nervous. More nervous than when he was about to go to Hell. At least back then, he kind of knew what he was in for. Today was something different all together.
With Sam stood next to him at the front of the small Vegas wedding chapel, Dean chewed on his fingernails while waiting for his bride to be to walk down the aisle.
"Dude, stop that" Sam batted the hand Dean was currently chewing. Dean looked at Sam with an annoyed expression that softened almost instantly.
"Can't help it. Nervous." Sam laughed and shook his head.
The doors at the back of the chapel opened and Bobby walked in. He gave the Winchester brothers a quick thumbs up before taking his place by the front pew. A quick ruffling sound signalled that Castiel had also arrived. Dean looked around at them and smiled. The only person missing now was his future wife.
Suddenly REO Speedwagon's 'Can't Fight This Feeling' was piped into the chapel. Of course, Dean thought, what else would she choose to walk down the aisle to?
Dean turned to the chapel's backdoors to see Jo walk in with her mother, Ellen. Dean's jaw dropped slightly when he saw Jo. She looked stunning in a fitted, exquisite cocktail dress she had bought at the last moment. She was smiling from ear to ear at him. He couldn't help but smile back.
Jo walked down the aisle with Ellen slowly. When they reached the front, Ellen leaned in close to Dean.
"You understand that if you don't take good enough care of her, I will kill ya, boy." Ellen whispered, making Dean gulp, before smiling sweetly at her daughter, kissing her on the cheek and going to stand with Bobby and Castiel.
"Don't listen to her babe," Jo chuckled.
The minister started the ceremony. Dean held his breath when he asked if anyone knew of any reason why they shouldn't be married. He let the breath out once he was sure Ellen wasn't going to say anything. The minister asked them to turn to one another and hold hands while they said their vows.
"I, Dean Winchester, take you, Joanna Beth Harvelle, to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and bad. I will love and honour you in all the days of my life. I take you as my wife from this day forward until death do us part."
"I, Joanna Beth Harvelle, take you Dean Winchester, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and bad. I will love and honour you in all the days of my life. I take you as my husband from this day forward until death do us part."
Dean smiled at Jo as he wiped away a stray tear rolling down her cheek. She leaned her face into his hand and closed her eyes for a moment.
They exchanged their rings and the minister declared them husband and wife. Dean took Jo in his arms and kissed her tenderly as their family members cheered.
"I love you Mrs Winchester" he whispered to his new wife.
"I love you too Mr Winchester" she whispered back to her new husband with a smile.
