My first oneshot for the brand-new Memoirs!
After the Dark One Worm, everyone is finally back home on Shuggazoom. But something is still missing.
Inspired by 'Home' by Chris Daughtry.
Chiro/Jinmay!
Chiro sighed, his scarf ruffling in the wind as he gazed forlornly over the lit up city. Of course, he was happy to be back, but...
He lowered his head, sitting down on the head of the Super Robot. He liked being up this high, especially at night, where he could see the whole world. It gave him a sense of security, and power. A good kind of power, though.
He lay down on his back, pointing a finger to the starred sky. He connected the stars like dots, and he was surprised as they formed words.
Missing?
He clenched his eyes shut. Yes, he did feel as if something were missing.
"Chiro?" a soft voice said.
He sat up and turned. Jinmay had her rocket shoes on, and was hovering not too far from him. She lowered herself to the metal and sat beside him.
"You okay?" she asked, concerned. "You've been up here for four hours. You missed dinner." She looked around. "Oh, you're on the head of the Super Robot. Something's on your mind."
Chiro chuckled, pushing her playfully.
"Seriously, what's up?" Jinmay wondered.
Chiro sighed again and looked at his feet. "Well..." he began. "I'm not sure, actually. I just feel like something's missin'. We're all back together, but what if something happens and we get separated again?"
Jinmay looked at him closer. "Well, you should just make the most of the time you do have together.
Chiro looked up and gazed into her eyes. Deep down, he knew she was right.
"But what if we do get separated? I don't want that to happen."
Jinmay put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "It won't."
With that, she leaned forward, capturing his lips with her own.
There. Short but sweet!
