Pete slammed his hand against the alarm clock and rolled over. Manectric yawned as he awoke. Seeing his trainer still asleep he shot off an electric charge.
Pete shot out of his bed and put on his clothes. "Manny. We need to talk about restraint."
The two bounded down the stairs to the breakfast table where Dewott was sitting.
"Morning girl." Dewott smiled as she ate her pokefood.
"Pete, what did I tell you about leaving your pokemon out?" He could hear his mother in the other room.
"They get so cramped in their pokeballs mom." After scarfing down his food he opened the window so that Flecthinder could fly in. Aipom was laying on the couch asleep. "Cmon guys."
Pete returned all four of his pokemon to their balls and grabbed his bag. "See ya mom."
"Today class, we will be studying Pokemon breeding." "Wish he wouldn't bore us with this and let us do our own breeding." Pete turned his eyes on Greg. The popular guy. He was called the second best trainer in the school. He was talking to his girlfriend, Rachel. Probably the hottest Raven haired girl in school.
"Only girl I wanna breed with is Lucy." That was Fred. One of Lucy's fans. Lucy was the class president and by far the most wanted girl in the entire school.
"Shut up Fred. She's mine." Truman piped in.
"Excuse me. Fred, Truman. Is their something you wish to share with the class?" The Teacher turned.
"No sir." They spoke in unison.
Pete sat in the cafeteria looking around. He barely touched his food. Rachel and Greg were in a corner with the popular kids. Lucy sat with some other girls while her fan club drooled at another table.
"You ok man?" It was Roy. Pete's older cousin. "Oh...Yeah."
"Anyways. I caught it!" "You caught what?"
Roy grinned ear to ear. "You know that noise in the house?"
"Yeah?" "It was a Pidove!" "Nice." "I'm gonna evolve it and enter the tournament."
"You have to have six pokemon to enter the tournament." "I have five. How many do you have?"
"Still four." "Dude its our second year. we should have six like Cooper and Greg."
"We don't stand a chance against those guys. They are gonna be pros someday. So who would you ask out? Rachel or Lucy?"
"Well Rachel's dating Greg. And Lucy is wanted by everyone. By which I mean anyone who likes girl parts."
"I know but she's single and straight..." "And still wanting to get back with Cooper."
"Whatever. Not like we talk anymore." "What happened between you two?"
"I became aware of the female gender and didn't want to ruin our friendship so I didn't say anything to make myself look stupid. Over time this meant I talked to her less and less. Now all we do is chat on PokeFace." Pete looked away. "Stupid me."
"I agree. Hey. I thought you met a new girl." "Rose lives a ways away and she doesn't have a PokeFace or anything."
"But would she...?" "Possibly. We met at PokeCamp and worked together for like seven weeks."
"So?" "Maybe. Why?" "Cuz isn't that her?"
