Disclaimer: I don't own Frasier

"Oh Niles," Dahpne said, "Can you believe it? In just a few months you'll be Dr. Niles Moon."

Niles smiled. Than paused.

"Niles Moon," he asked.

"Well, in me family the men always take the woman's name," Dahpne said, "I just assumed that you wanted to take me last name."

"Well it's just that I never heard of a man taking a woman's name," Niles said, "It's a wonderful idea though. It's new and exciting and I would be honored to take your last name."

He kissed her. She returned the kiss with her own lips. She melted in his arms.

"Oh," Frasier said, "I see I've interrupted something"

He had just walked in.

"No Fraiser you're not interrupting anything," Niles said, "We were just talking about how I will soon be Dr. Niles Moon."

"You're taking her last name," Fraiser asked.

"Now Frasier I had the same reaction at first but it is a family tradition in her family and I want to honor her traditions and honor Dahpne."

"Well I... congratulations," Frasier said unconvincingly.

Martin came in. Fraiser filled him in on what was going on.

"Oh," Martin said, "That's interesting."

"Dad I would think of all people you would object to that," Frasier exclaimed.

"Look is Niles changing his sex?"

"No of course not."

"Is he changing his personality," Martin asked.

"No. Niles is still Niles no matter his last name."

"Exactly," Martin said, "Son a name is just a name."

"Exactly," Martin said, "Son a name is just a name."

"Would you have taken mom's name if she had wanted you too?"

"Gee I don't know," Martin said, "Hester is too girly a name for me."

Dahpne laughed.

"In a heartbeat," Martin said seriously.
