Takes place before Leo comes back in Trials of Apollo.

For the first time since his Mother's death, Leo Valdez was happy.

Sure he was technically trapped on Ogygia, but he was trapped there with Calypso.

Of course, he didn't want to stay for all of eternity, so he was working on Festus.

But, nothing made him happier than working on the mechanical dragon.

So when Calypso asked Leo if he wanted to go swimming, he politely declined. His reasons for declining though, ran a little deeper than, "He was content with working on Festus."

Leo disliked taking his shirt off. Not because of his scrawny build (Although he was embarrassed by that), but because of the scars.

None of the scars were from anything that had to do with being a demigod.

Not from sword practice.

Not from monster fighting.

Not even from the war. (Okay, maybe he had one or two scars from the war.)

The scars were from foster homes. Foster homes with alcoholics as the foster parents, foster homes that treated him like he was crazy, foster homes which blamed him for everything.

However, he had said no a little too quickly for Calypso's liking, so she had gotten curious.

She asked him why, and he sputtered and said some BS about not having a swimsuit.

She called on her invisible servants to bring her a male swimsuit.

After which, she took drastic measures.

She charmspoke.

"Leo," Calypso found herself asking, "Would you be a dear and go swimming with me?"

Leo didn't even know she could charmspeak.

He didn't stand a chance.

Leo went into the bathroom and got changed, revealing all of his scars.

"Leo," She asked in a whisper, still using charmspeak since she was certain he wouldn't answer truthfully if she didn't, "Where did you get these scars?"

He told her the truth, as she looked angrier and angrier the more he told.

"I'll kill them!" she shouted, "I'll kill every last one of those people, who shouldn't be even allowed near children!"

The charmspeak wore off, and Leo looked extremely violated.

"Babe," he asked tears still brimming in his eyes, "How could you?"

I- I'm sorry Leo," She apologized, "I-I didn't know but I never expected this!"

Then a sudden realization struck her.

"The rest of the seven, they don't know, do they?" She asked Leo, hoping she was wrong.

"Well... Piper knows because she charmspoke me into telling her back in Wilderness School, but other than her, you're the only person who knows." Leo stated.

"You're going to tell them," she spoke with such a definitive voice that was almost impossible to to argue with, "They have a right to know."

"But-" he pleaded before he was cut off.

"No buts."
