Silver Fox

"Are we ever gonna make the eleven o'clock news?" Tony asked, flipping off the TV.

"Could have happened tonight if you broke your neck," Gibbs replied, not looking up from the computer screen.

Tony paused for a moment. "Yeah, well, it's been a long one," he says, clipping his sig to his belt. "You leaving soon?"

"Mmmhmm," Gibbs grumbled incoherently.

"…Alright. Night."

Gibbs watched as the younger agent limped away. The situation would have been mildly humorous, had it not been for the fact that DiNozzo had almost died.

Just then, his phone begins to ring. Gibbs sighs and flips it open.

It read "Withheld".

"Gimme that," DiNozzo says, leaning over the wall separating Gibbs form some other NCIS agent.

"What?" Gibbs asked, wondering how DiNozzo had gotten over there without him noticing.

Tony motioned for the phone.

Gibbs handed it to him, slightly bewildered.

"Wrong number or dead?"

"What?"

Tony rolled his eyes and hit the send button then brought the phone to his ear.

"Hello?" He asked. "No, sorry, this is Tony. You must have the wrong number… Oh… wait a minute, who'd you say you were looking for? Jethro Gibbs? Hmm… bit of an older guy? … Kinda sexy? … Silver hair? … Ex-marine? … Yeah, that's him? Sorry, he's a little busy right now, can he call you back later? … Hello? … Hello?" He looked back at Gibbs, who was attempting to suppress a grin. "She hung up on me!"

"Kinda sexy?" Gibbs asked, eyebrow raised.

"Yeah, kinda," Tony shrugged nonchalantly.

Gibbs rolled his eyes. "Let's go home."

"Fine by me," Tony said, watching as Gibbs grabbed his sig and threw his phone in one of the desk drawers.

Once they were on the same side of the wall, Tony threw one arm over Gibbs' shoulder.

"You're never going parachuting again," Gibbs muttered as they stepped into the elevator.
