For nearly seventy years, Aragorn, son of Arathorn had waited for this moment; the day that he was going to finally marry the woman of his dreams, Arwen daughter of Elrond. He was thinking about the first time that he had seen her on his twentieth birthday when there was a knock on the door. "Come in!" he shouted. Elladan and Elrohir came bursting in with a tray of sweet rolls. Aragorn's stomached growled in response. The twins and Aragorn sat on the bed and reminisced over their many pranks that they had pulled on everybody in Rivendell, especially poor Erestor and Glorfindel.

"And when you have kids of your own Estel, we will teach them all of our best works," Elladan said with an evil grin on his face. Aragorn's face went white, making Elladan and Elrohir burst out with laughter.

"Are you ready for today little brother?" Elrohir asked his foster-brother in all seriousness.

"I have been waiting for this day for many years and now that it has finally come, I am overwhelmed and nervous. What if she changes her mind at the last minute and decides that I am not good enough?"

"Estel, in thousands of years, there has been no one that our sister has fallen for. Father even tried to encourage a marriage between her and Legolas but it was quickly shown that they love each other like brother and sister. And after many years grieving over our naneth, not only did you save us, but there was a spark in Arwen's eyes that we had not seen in a very long time. There is no way that she would back down. She loves you Aragorn. For years while you were in the wild, she hand stitched the Gondor standard, knowing that one day you would be back here and be her king again," Elrohir reassured Estel. He took a sigh of relief and embraced his brothers. No more words were needed.

There was a knock on the door and Lord Elrond walked in to the king's chambers. "Shall we get ready? We have only a few hours left until your wedding?" Despite feeling like he was losing his daughter forever, Elrond was happy that she had found somebody who was worthy of her love. Elrond knew that Aragorn would become king, for he foreseen it, and knowing Aragorn would prefer being outdoors and traveling, Elrond made him promise that after he became king, he would be able to marry his daughter, to try and urge him to become who he was born to be.

Aragorn walked over to the man who raised him and gave him a hug, whispering, "Hannon len." Elrond smiled at his foster-son and embraced him back. When Aragorn pulled back, he said, "I know one thing that Arwen would love for today. She has been nagging me for years and today I think I will indulge in her wish." He turned to the wash basin. On it was his shaving kit. He handed it to Elrond. "I think it's time for all of it to come off. At least for today."

Elladan and Elrohir looked shocked and then started to wager on how their sister would react. Elladan bet that Arwen would love it and Elrohir bed that Arwen would be a little disappointed and miss the scratchy kisses. Aragorn chuckled and looked at Lord Elrond in the mirror. "What is your wager?" Elrond just laughed and shaved his whole beard. Aragorn could not believe it when he looked in the mirror. He hadn't been without a beard since his early years. It was a new sensation. Before they all knew it, the bells were ringing and Aragorn took a deep breath and they took their places outside in the courtyard.

At twilight, Aragorn son of Arathorn had finally wed the woman of his dreams, Arwen, daughter of Elrond.

At the reception, Aragorn saw in the corner of his eye and saw Elladan giving Elrohir money. Arwen noticed it too and inquired her new husband what that was all about.
