I was in my nightie when he figured it out.

I heard the familiar vworp vworp from my cell, and the panicked cries of a few guards. I straightened up, primping quickly in the mirror.

"Can I just visit my murderess in peace?" I heard him call to the sentries. I turned to face him, smiling; there he was, the Doctor I had married, the same ridiculous hair and ancient eyes. For a second I felt as giddy as a school girl, but from his demeanor I could tell this was a business call.

"Hello, sweetie." I lounged up against the bars, and was rewarded with a quick up-down from his eyes. Maybe tonight he'll finally give in, I thought. He cleared his throat awkwardly, and I smiled widely. "How can I help you?"

"It's all about you."

I rolled my eyes. "I've been trying to tell you that for years, but you –"

"No. Everything. Everything I've been through is for you." He wasn't being romantic or blaming me for anything, he was stating it as a fact. I raised an eyebrow, beckoning him to continue. After a fleeting glance over his shoulder, he used his sonic to open the lock and slip in to my cell. He took the chair opposite my bed, and I reluctantly sat on the bed.

"At first it seemed like a coincidence, then just luck… but I see now." He looked up at me suddenly, his eyes wild but happy. "All of this is because of you." He reached and grabbed my hands, and my heart jumped into my throat. Maybe this wasn't strictly business, but I still didn't understand.

"I'm not sure I follow."

"River Song. Melody Pond." I loved the way he said my names. "Do you realize just how amazing you are?" I opened my mouth, but he interrupted me. "Don't answer that." He smiled, the happiness reaching into his eyes. I couldn't help but grin even wider back at him.

"1969!" He stood up, pacing slightly around my cell. "When you escaped the Silence as a child and helped me fight the Silence as an adult, almost simultaneously."

I shrugged. "Honestly, my life seems to be like that a lot. Wibbly wobbly, you once called it."

"Exactly! " He beamed, then paused and began mumbling to himself. "That's also where a Weeping Angel sent me the first time I ever fought one… and later you…" He shook his head, then returned to sit across from me. "I was satisfied with that being a coincidence. But there's so much more.

"The 26th of June, 2010." I suddenly remembered seeing the Doctor's handheld scanner telling him this date. "The day the TARDIS exploded with you inside, the day we rebooted the universe, and your parent's wedding day." He took my hands up to his face and held them there, looking at them closely. "River, you were conceived and almost died on the same day."

"Once again –"

"No! It's completely different this time." He dropped my hands and ran his own through his hair. "The Silence raised you almost since conception. They are the ones who tried to destroy the TARDIS. They are the ones who would try to destroy you if they knew that the question will still be asked.

"You will know the most dangerous secret in the universe. You've helped completely restart reality. Multiple times."

He leaned forward, his face a few inches from my own. I felt flush from both the rush of information and his closeness.

"River Song. The most important woman in the universe."

Though I felt a shiver at this proclamation, I laughed. "I knew that already."

He put a finger to my lips, and stared at it. He licked his lips and blinked, a sign I knew meant that he was thinking of something rash. And then, in his eyes, I saw it. The realization.

"I love you."

Before I could retort, our lips were together, our bodies, our minds. Time seemed to stop and flow all at the same time. I felt his hearts hammering against me, his hands moving all over my body. I had forgotten how to breath, how to exist. All that mattered was now. This man was my life.

I might be the most important woman in the universe, but HE is my universe.
