"So, tell me about yourself." He flinched, turning around and smiling at her. "Ah, w-what Rose?" He asked, feeling his stomach turn with uneasiness. "I don't know much about you, Doctor, besides you being an alien and all." She paused, thinking of numerous questions to ask, knowing this might just be her only chance to get to know him at all. "Like, did you have a family? Friends?" Rose absolutely hated using the term 'did', but really didn't want to trigger anything for him. He leaned up against the console of the ship, crossing his arms and looking deeply into her eyes.
"I-I did, but I had to leave them." She looked confused for a second, waiting for him to continue. "Gallifreyean's are forced to leave there family's at eight to go to the academy, there they learn various mathematics and physics to become a Timelord." She nodded, slowly beginning to understand the complicated origin in which he came from. "I had a best friend, but when he looked into the Time Vortex, an initiation, he went insane." The Doctor felt a growing lump in his throat. "I left a few years after dropping out, and I came back but..." He paused, willing himself no to cry, especially not in front of her.
She noticed his lip trembling and walked to him, taking his hand, but saying nothing. He took a deep and shaky breath and nodded, smiling and trying to convince himself he was all right. "Doctor, you're crying..." She said quietly, surprise evident in her voice. "Oh, that's new." The man simply said, sniffling. She smiled and shook her head, reaching up to wipe away the gleaming tears. "Never seen you cry before." She noted, studying the freckles that dotted his cheeks. "Oh, I...um..." She broke away the gaze when noticing the heat that brightened his cheeks.
"It's alright..." She comforted as he sniffled. The Timelord's freckles were highlighted by the light flush that heated his cheeks and nose which he really was starting to feel self conscious about as she stared. "I didn't know you had freckles..." Rose giggled and dotted gently poked the small dots. "Rose..." He whined, grinning widely despite himself. The blonde took his hand and kissed his forehead. "Don't cry, Doctor everything's gonna be alright now." He gave a small nod, knowing the girl was probably right and that the seemingly never ending war had, ironically, ended. "Y-yeah." His voice was broken into bits but she oddly found it cute how he squeaked.
"Come on, let's go watch a movie or something." The Timelord gave a small nod and walked with her as she still held his hand, promising never to let go. "It'll be alright, Doctor..." The girl thought, still remembering the small shakiness of his voice "You'll see..."
