Something in the way she looked at him made his skin crawl.
There was darkness in her eyes. An intense, predatory gleam that made his stomach turn, and the voice at the back of his mind urged him to run before it was too late.
But his feet felt cemented in place, and as she slowly slunk her way across the room, weaving between drunken strangers and leering patrons, his heart thudded with anticipation and dread.
Her eyes conveyed threat and promise.
Should've left when you had the chance, Lover. You're mine now.
And he knew he was done for.
