Jump City was a relatively peaceful city since both Trigon and Slade had been defeated thanks to the Teen Titans. Unbeknownst to any of the Titans a new power was rising a thousand miles away in a small town in Minnesota.
At a small high school in Minnesota Edward was sitting in his math class daydreaming. " hey Eddie stop daydreaming" one of Eddie's classmates said poking him in the side. Eddie flinched " sorry Jake i was just thinking about this dream i keep having" Eddie said snapping back to reality. " Care to talk about it?" the girl who sat behind him asked. " No thanks Bella" Eddie said sounding semi depressed. suddenly the PA system buzzed to life " ATTENTION STUDENTS AND STAFF THIS IS A LOCKDOWN SITUATION I REPEAT THIS IS A LOCKDOWN SITUATION" the principal said urgently. Their teacher quickly sprang to the door but before he could lock it a man with a gun took him and his class hostage. " ALRIGHT ANYBODY MOVES THEY DIE" the assailant said Eddie had taken cover behind the teachers desk unlike the rest of the class who was cowering under the counter like they were supposed to. The assailant then scanned the students under the counter looking lustfully at Bella " You'll do" the man said to he pulled her out from under the counter he began to unbutton her shirt and fondle her. She screamed in horror as she felt the man groping her chest. Suddenly Eddie stood up from behind the desk walking up behind the man grabbing the gun he had set down on a students desk Eddie shouldered the rifle pointing it at the assailant's head exclaiming " LEAVE HER ALONE!" The man spun around and opened fire on Eddie with the pistol he had in his hand firing 6 rounds into Eddie's chest as he fired the rifle into the mans head killing him instantly. As he lay dying Eddie had a vision of his personal hero Gen. George S Patton speaking to him he said " Edward are you giving up now?" Eddie looked the General in the eye saying " I've done my duty and protected my loved ones haven't I?" The General looked into the teens eyes and shook his head as he faded into the mist. As Eddie came back to consciousness he could tell something was different inside of him he opened his eyes to find he was in a circle of his peers and teachers he picked his head up looking at his body as the bullet holes healed and the few bullets that had been lodged in him popped out of the hole they made he stood up looking and his left arm that he'd broken a few days prior as it set and healed itself he and the rest of the people around him stood speechless " you're a freak !?" someone in the crowd shouted " And a hero !" another person shouted. Eventually the EMT's showed up and took the corpse away also taking Eddie with them to "perform tests" which involved blood drawing and testing after a few hours of testing his blood the doctor showed him the results " according to the lab work all of your muscles, organ tissue and bones have become stronger than titanium" the doctor said looking rather puzzled. "Do you know why?" Eddie asked " we think it may be that you had a sudden mutation in all of your cells" the doctor said. A few weeks had passed since the incident and the community had not taken kindly to a " mutant" living among them. One day Eddie's parents noticed he hadn't gotten up for school so they knocked on his door no answer so they opened the door to find a note saying that he had left town to find a fresh start. Thus our story begins…..
