Disclaimer: I don't own Victirous
Beck had been in training for six weeks now and all he could think about was Jade. Jade was in his thoughts morning, midmorning, early noon, noon, late noon, twilight and night. In fact there wasn't a moment goes by that he wasn't thinking about Jade.
"OLIVER!"
His thoughts were interrupted by General Friend.
"Sorry. I guess I was a little distracted."
General Friend sighed.
"Let me guess," he said, "thinking about Jade?"
Beck sighed
"I'm always thinking about Jade," he said.
General Friend was tough but he was a man who lived up to his name. He was a friend to all the troop members as well as a commanding officer.
"I'm worried about you Oliver," he said
"I'm sorry sir," Beck replied, "I'll try to do better."
You're damn right you will, General Friend thought to himself.
"Go shower up Oliver," General Friend said.
Jade was at home fixing dinner when her phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Miss West, this is General Friend.
"Everything is fine," he added quickly so Jade wouldn't worry, "But I would like to arrange for you to come down to the base. Beck misses you like crazy and I think seeing you again will really put him in better spirits."
"HOW, WHEN, WHERE, AND CAN IT BE YESTERDAY," Jade screamed excitedly
"The train leaves tonight. I will arrange the transportation for you.
"Be there at 8 o'clock tonight"
"I'll be there at 7 o'clock," Jade laughed joyously
"Why? The train doesn't leave until 8 o'clock"
Once again Jade laughed joyously.
That night Beck was in his bunker when he got paged.
"Beck Oliver to the main office please. Beck Oliver to the main office please"
"Uh-oh," one of the guys teased, "What did you do"
"I don't know," Beck said alarmed hurrying to the main office.
"Oliver," General Friend pretended to scold, "You've been distracted lately and I cannot put up with that anymore… so I have decided to fix the problem"
He stepped aside and there Beck saw Jade. The screaming, the hugging the spinning around is something you would have expected to see. Beck knew the hard times weren't over by a long shot. What he knew was that for the first time in a long time he fit. Jade was the piece that fit with him and he owed his happiness to his friend, General Friend.
