Weep.

Weep, weep for those,

Us, who are born

Of the darkness,

The shadows,

And who lift their-

Our-

Wondering eyes to the light,

The light,

And who,

In the end,

The very end,

Must once again

Return

To the Shadows.

Cry, cry for those

Who seek solace,

Comfort,

Consolation,

In the light,

The Day.

The blessed day.

Who lift their eyes,

Their tired eyes,

Daily to the light

In hopes

That the light

Will never forsake them

If they do not

Forsake

The light.

Who fly up

To the sun

Soulfully, on brittle little-bird wings,

And who fall,

Fall down

Upon the roads.

Fall down

Once more

Upon Night's dark roads.

But the light

Will always forgive

Those who

Forgive

The light.

Cry, cry for those

Who seek solace,

Comfort,

Consolation,

In the darkness

The Shadows.

The blessed shadows.

Who rest their eyes

Their tired eyes

Tired from the light,

Tired from the fly,

Tired from the fall,

The dread fall,

In the darkness.

Hiding from the light,

Turning from the light,

Leaving the light,

Embracing the darkness.

The soothing darkness,

The restful darkness.

And the darkness

Darkens the blood

The soul,

Releases the soul

Into the night sky

Lit by Nuitari

Only Nuitari

The Dark One.

The shadows, the darkness,

Shrouds them,

Veils them,

Hides them,

Embraces them.

Forever,

Eternally.

Let tears leave your eyes

For those,

Us,

Us all,

Who are mortal,

And,

No matter weather we live

Our lives in light or shadow, or both–

Eventually, we all

Must someday return

To the darkness.

Soooooo . . . what do you think?

Good? Bad?

This struck me while I was reading the Soulforge and the part about 'for all those who lift their wondering eyes to the light and must return to darkness' really got me thinking. What do you think?

Danke.
