Chapter 1
21XX, Maverick Hunter quaters
X woke from his dream to find himself sweating dragoncore energy. It had happened again. He always had the same dream every time he went to sleep or went to recharge himself. The dream was about a giant maverick rampaging through Abel city and was fighting a giant lizard that looked like it. What could it mean? X thought as he was lifting himself out of his pod. If only he knew... No. X thought, Now's not the time for pondering about such things. The reason? There were more Maverick outbreaks than ever and not even the maverick hunters could keep it under control. "But then again," X mumbled to himself after he was out of his pod. "sometimes I think I'm going maverick himself." No sooner did he say that X felt that something was wrong. But what exactly? He turned around only to see nothing but the other pods in his dorm. So he looked at his reflection on one of the hunter's pod and saw that his armor had changed. X's armor was now grey and black, his shoulders now had Stegosaurus plates on them. His X-buster had also changed. It looked like a famous monster that he had once heard about. But which one? Before X could think about it more he heard someone yell out, "That's the last straw, Axl! You messed with me too many times!" "Zero." X sighed, recognizing the voice right away. X jogged towards where Zero and Axl were arguing with each other, unaware that they had changed also.
