A Little Poem about James Moody on the R.M.S Titanic, This is my first poem, so if anyone could give me a few pointers I would thank them. Enjoy
April 10th, 1912
She stood there tall and proud.
12 o'clock the whistles sounded letting us know it was time to go.
Good-byes were heard all around,
Tears of joy muted the sound.
April 14th, 1912,
Those few words stung my ears.
In 2 hours and 40 minutes
This all will be at the bottom of the Atlantic.
I being the youngest officer was given a chance to leave
But I couldn't, my duty here wasn't finished
So I decided my fate right then and there.
I turned to face Harold Lowe, my best friend,
And the one I might never see again.
"You go." Was all I said.
April 15th, 1912
The unsinkable
Did the unthinkable.
Here she sits broken in half on the ocean floor.
With no one around to disturb her,
Titanic's final resting place will never be forgotten.
As for me I stand over a grave that reads,
R.I.P James Paul Moody
(August 21st, 1887-April 15th 1912)
6th officer R.M.S Titanic
'Greater Love Hath No Man Then This,
That A Man Lay His Life Down For His Friend.'
And with that I walked into the light
With everyone else who died that fate full night.
