What if instead of Cyborg going undercover Robin went in his place as Red X, but let's just say that things don't go the way he wants. He ends up being blackmailed by Slade(again). Along the way he discovers the other side of the battle. The line seems to disappear between light and dark and Robin seems to make some friends along the way.

Robin's POV
The HIVE had managed to escape right from under their noses once again. There has to be some way to find out what the HIVE is planning though Robin.
He needed some way to gain their trust and find out what was going on.
Looking through the footage of the break in Robin mentally devised a plan to break into the HIVE academy without getting noticed by any of the other students.
Just then an idea came to mind.
Running down the hall and taking a left Robin ran into the that had stuff from past adventures the Titans had got on.
None of them was what Robin was looking for but instead he went down to the vault that had the reason Robin had almost betrayed his friend's trust.
The Red X suit…
See how Red X was already a known villain see how he stolen from major tech companies and took out the Teen Titans single handedly that one time…
He could easily past as a student in the HIVE, and seeing he is already a known thief, which was something he exactly wasn't proud of, he would gain trust more easily than if one of the titans were to show up as a villain no one had heard of before.
He would be the best choice if it came down to going undercover.
This was a stressful choice since while heroes needed to do whatever it took, but there was a time when he almost wasn't.
That was the biggest regret Robin had.
He almost lost everything…
His friends…
Their trust…
The only family he had left…
Sure, his friends did start to trust him again in time, but it a couple months.
He is their leader, he shouldn't have made that mistake.
He shouldn't have let Slade get to them that much, as a leader, he should've kept his cool, and as their friend, he should've trusted them.
But he won't make the same mistake twice.
This time, he would trust his team when going undercover in the HIVE and update them as much as possible while on this mission.
He won't lose his friends.
Taking a deep breathe, he got the Red X suit and went to the main room to tell the titans of his plan.
As he walked to the main room, he couldn't get Slade's voice out of his head, words that haunted him day and night.
"You're becoming more and more like me everyday"
"You enjoy it, stealing"
"One day, you will see things my way"
He couldn't be thinking about that right now, taking a deep sign, he just needed to focus on the mission.
