To Know Who I Am

And I'd give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

He looked over at the girl sitting on the swings, slowly revolving like a pendulum. Back and forth, back and forth. She had a glow about her that made him just want to scoop her up and hold her forever. She was like a heaven of sorts. The light aura was the sweetest thing he could feel. It wasn't like he had a home he wanted to go to, not when she was right there…

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

His breath caught as she looked up. Her chocolate brown orbs glinted in the low light, with the sun beginning to dip into the horizon. Their auras flashed as her eyes met his, then subsided as she broke the gaze. He was confused, did she not feel it? He certainly felt the auras resist each other. He stared at her, drinking in her presence, tasting the Now. No reminiscing of the past, or dreaming of the future. Just the Now and Moments passing by.

And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

He was broken, he realized. His Beast, the Youko of Old, wanted her. She completed him, and he couldn't even bear to be near her. They didn't understand, the Detectives. They weren't demonic; they had no clue as to how he pined, how he would beg in his dreams for her to see, to know.

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything seems like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know your alive

He wished he could talk to her, hold her hand, or even just make himself known to her. But he couldn't. It wasn't possible. If he got closer, her aura rose and lashed out. It seemed as though she was untrained. She actually had absolutely no idea what was going on.

And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

He stood, unable to take the slow suffering of no contact… he began to walk away…

The girl looked up again, her eyes widening, lips parting as she whispered, "Kurama, you're leaving?"

I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

He paused, as though he heard something. He shook his head. Maybe in another life, he could finally meet up with her and they would finally know each other.

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

"Kagome, I just want you to know who I am."
