A/N: This really needs some explanation first. Initially, I wrote this poetry for myself with relation to my current academic failures. Then I came up with a Raven's-heartbreak story for it. Here goes the story.

Raven and Beast Boy were getting closer post-Aftershock pt.-II. Raven felt like they could really have a future. Then, she found the cure to Terra's stoning and felt that it would be cruel to hide the fact. Anyway, if he truly loved her, Terra's coming back wouldn't have any effect on their current relationship.

So, she freed Terra. Terra was now back as a Titan. And sadly, it seems that Beast Boy was just on the rebound with Raven. (What Raven doesn't know that Beast Boy thought that he was making Raven uncomfortable, so Raven brought Terra back so that he could leave her alone. Tragedy.) .

Thus, out of heartbreak, Raven wrote this poem. (I can't believe I came up with such a cheesy story. Makes me cringe.)

Enough talking. This is the backstory, nothing I do about it now. On with the poetry.

Disclaimer: No. I don't.

Broken Dreams

They are broken,

Scattered on the floor in pieces, millions

Of glass shards, once beautiful, not stricken,

Now fallen off the mirrors that lined golden pavilions.

Who brought this on?

Why did this end?

Who fired the shots and shot them down

The dreams of smiles, now one of frowns.

So, walk through the once-golden pavilions

Cut yourself on the shards of dreams.

Count your way through the millions of pieces

Once laughter-hued, now tinged with screams.

Walk through your broken dreams…

Take a heavy dose of the painful stroll,

Maybe it's for good, that's all.

Walk through the shards and cut your feet

And if they still dare to bleed

Allow, but through paper and pen

Let the night sea tears wash them away, like rain

Wipe them out, and write it again.

Don't stop the tears' calming flow.

Be silent, don't make a sound.

As the stocks of sorrow grow,

They need to burst unbound.

So, through this eternal darkness and timeless sorrow

Walk through your glass-shard dreams

Too easy to break, now there's no tomorrow

You walk through your broken dreams.

Steady and still, carve your way,

Taste the grief, and bleed away...

She put her pen down, and rested her head on her arms. She knew it was nowhere near her best poetry. It had no rhyme scheme. Half of it didn't make sense. Still, it was the best she could do.

For one can do only so much when their dreams are broken.

A/N: Now this really is not my style of poetry. But then, as Raven said, one can only do so much when they are broken. I feel so bad for Rae, poor girl. :_(
