"What is that?" Cas demands, jabbing at the tattoo peeping over the neckline of Dean's tee shirt.
"It's protection," Dean sighs, not really wanting to have this conversation.
"You've been branded?!" Castiel's eyebrows couldn't go much higher if he tried and he prods Dean's chest, swaying slightly.
"No, Cas. It's a tattoo. Okay?" and Dean gently grasps the hand currently resting over the marking, more for support than emphasis. "How many did you have?"
Castiel though, is more interested in the tattoo. "Does it hurt?" he asks, and sways again.
"Sit down, Cas," Dean sighs. "I'll tell you a story."
