(Author's Note: A one shot from Fitz's perspective. Because he seems out of place now, especially with Daisy and Mack, and how close he used to be to the two of them. Daisy didn't even mention him in the premiere. -_-)

Leo Fitz. Brilliant engineer. Utterly useless to his team.

Coulson had just told him off for his never ending search for Jemma. Leo could still taste the blood in his mouth from the Moroccan thugs.

Jemma- gone. May- gone.

Daisy didn't need him. She had Mack. The two of them, at one time or another his best friends. But time had moved on, and now Skye was Daisy, and Mack was her buddy, and they barely spoke to him anymore.

Only my friend Mack calls me that.

Friend Mack. Likely. Mack probably didn't even know what was going on with Fitz. Like how much he missed Jemma. Nobody knew how much he missed Jemma.

How her words haunted him every night.

"You're my best friend in the whole world."

And he had let her down. He, Leo Fitz, had been the idiot to let the monolith out that stole his best friend.

Bobbi had given him a going over for the Moroccan incident. He didn't care. He hadn't cared when they had threatened to kill him. What was life if Jemma wasn't there? If the team didn't need him there?

With new determination, Leo approached the monolith, blasted the lock off. The rock would take him, take him to Jemma. Or it would kill him. But he couldn't do it without her.

The team wouldn't miss him. He was Fitz. They still thought of him as the weak, helpless. Dwelling over a time that was gone. Over a person that was gone.

But the monolith wouldn't kill him.
