Prologue
Life would never be perfect for him the way it was for other people. He knew that it wouldn't be like this forever, but this moment felt like forever, as if the pain would never fade away anymore.
Wind was whispering through silver hair. He was standing near the lake, his face showing nothing, his eyes empty and cold. He was staring to a faraway object no one else would ever see.
The water of the lake was calm, nothing like the anger he felt inside. The wind was trying his best to cheer him up, but the fight was useless. No tears were forming in his eyes, though he felt like crying. A small piece of paper was in his hand. To Draco Malfoy it said in curly, golden letters.
Gold wasn't his colour. It symbolized the bravery which he had never felt. It symbolized everything he would never have. No, Draco Malfoy had fallen in love with silver a long time ago. It was the easy thing to get, it was there to stand for everything his name had always stood for. Everything about the name Malfoy breathed silver.
A noise made him look away. Blaise Zabini, his best friend, was walking towards him. Draco didn't say anything, but just handed him in the letter he had just received. Blaise read it and remained silent. Together they stared to the faraway object no one else would ever see.
---
She knew happiness could not last forever, but she wanted to enjoy it as long as it lasted. She had known times in which happiness wasn't to be taken for granted. She knew it wouldn't last forever, but it didn't seem to matter to her that moment.
For Ginny, life had never been more perfect than now. She was sitting on a bench in the rose yard, together with Harry and the look in his eyes was one of love. It was summer and the sun was shining in his eyes. They sat in peace, and the world of war and bitterness seemed far away for that moment.
Close by, a mockingbird in a tree was singing her song, happily and without worries. The song was so much like Ginny felt at that moment, although deep down she knew that she couldn't be sitting in so much peace when all around chaos was erupting.
He whispered that he had something for her. He pulled a little, silver necklace with a red ruby out of his pocket and handed it to her.
She couldn't help feeling disappointed. Silver wasn't her colour. It stood for pride and ambition, for putting yourself before others. That wasn't Ginevra Molly Weasley. Her heart belonged to gold; a gentle, warm colour which made you feel loved.
'I love you,' he whispered and everything felt right again.
A/N: This story is for my friends, to prove that Ginny/Draco is the best ship ever. Guys, I hope you enjoy this story.
Okay, this is my first fic ever posted, so I hope it isn't too bad. I like writing it anyway, but some reviews would be welcome. I apologize to all the DG-fans reading this story for making it HG, but that will change in some time.
