Authors Note: Hey! So I wrote this fic after I learnt of Daniel's departure, and what affect it had on one of his lovers/friends. A goodbye between Amanda and Daniel. Please read,review and most of all, enjoy!
She waits.
Hours, minutes, seconds
She sits there and waits.
She fiddles with her hair,
As she waits for time to pass.
He checks his suitcase.
Once, twice, three times.
He knows he has everything,
Yet something is missing.
He steps into a cab and departs
Into a sleepless city.
She gazes around.
Eyes fixed upon so much, yet so little.
She eagerly awaits his presence.
The clock is ticking.
Tick, tick, tick.
Patience is not her speciality.
He looks at what he is leaving.
Leaving behind for good.
He adapts to what he won't sense again.
Taste, smell, sight, touch, sound.
He steadily breathes and closes his eyes.
The cab arrives.
He steps out.
She taps her feet.
Four, five, six times.
Pacing around the terminals.
Crowds squash her path.
She looks around.
A cab arrives.
A man appears.
He tips the driver,
Pulls out his suitcase and heads into a sea of people.
He spots a woman.
She looks as lost as he does.
Blonde, slim, beautiful.
He goes to meet with her.
She races to his side,
Throws her arms around him,
And doesn't let go.
Their fingers entwine as they speak.
An announcement interrupts them.
People start to move, separating the pair.
They reunite.
She kisses his cheek.
Once, twice.
Their faces press together
As they kiss one last time.
She sheds a silent tear.
He whispers in her ear.
They slowly part,
Hands slipping away from one another.
He remembers what he forgot.
He leaves.
