She kept calling me, her good friend. I never bothered to answer, how could I? But, I always listen to her messages, not wanting to let her go. This message was different. This time he didn't ask me why I didn't call her; instead said "Hunter… I want to tell you something but you never answer. If you want to know… if you care about me like you said, then meet me outside the zoo tonight."
I stared at my phone, not believing her words. Does she love me too? I shouldn't get my hopes up. I looked at my arm, I still had time before the final bud bloomed.
As soon as the sun went down, I was running to the zoo. I didn't care who saw me, all I could think about was seeing Lindey.
I don't know why I'm doing this. I stopped in the entrance. She probably won't show. Or she will show up with the cops. "Hunter?" I look up. "Hunter!" she smiled, running into my arms.
"Lindey," I gasped, "I'm sorry I didn't answer. I didn't know what to say or what you'd think. Or-" I held her tight.
"It's ok."
"I love you," the word slipped out of my mouth before I could stop them, because I didn't want to stop them.
"I love you too," she whispered back.
