Dinner in the Great Hall as usual. Nothing out of the ordinary could possibly happen.or could it?

Hermione Granger sits at the Gryffindor table in her seventh and last year. Not quite perfect in looks. In fact far from it: slightly prominent chin, greasy shiny skin, frizzy bushy hair. Yup, just a giant ball of fluff.

The owls flew in just like always. But one, not so much like an owl, caught everyone's attention. It was actually a kite (A/N: Ya, know.like those Egyptian birds. Not like an actual kite). And it was headed straight towards a Miss Hermione Granger.

Harry Potter and Ron Weasley both stopped eating, and also stared at it. It gave a great guttural cry and settled on her shoulder.

She realized who it was.

"Danassi!! How did you get here??!!"

Ron asked, "Herms, this your bird? What kind is it? Sure ain't an owl."

But she was caught up in a reverie. The label on the envelope marking the sender's name said ADOL HELIO.

A barely audible whisper, "Move."

"Wadja say Mione?"

"I said," a bit louder and more panicky now, "Move. NOW!!!"

The boys took a step back and so did everyone else who heard her yell.

Hermione held the letter out with both hands as far away as possible and stood up, bird obviously off her shoulder now, and flown away.

The letter, as soon as it was opened, could be heard even from miles away, shrieking like a banshee. Everyone closed their hands over their ears, and made sounds of annoyance. Even Hermione had a hard time listening to it. She dropped the package and the shrieks faded away leaving only a voice booming in the air.

"Time is not an option. We are coming. There is no way to stop us. The time is NOW!!!"

and it exploded.

Hermione looked around eyes widened, and saw that everyone was either too much in shock to speak or just flat out crying.

She slowly and quietly, face wan, spoke to the whole of the room.

"A-a j-joke.Y-yeah. That's all it was. Just-just eat...or something."

Finally, Professor Dumbledore broke the silence by saying, "Uh, yes. I do believe that was a joke. Um, why don't we presume with our meals now, hmm?"

He lightly smiled, but his eyes no longer glittered.

Next to him sat a slightly horrified but mainly confused and irritated Professor Snape.

"You heard him." He growled.

And everyone went back to eating and talking, though not as loud as before.

Hermione Granger slowly sat back down but with eyes looking around wildly.

"Err..Mione? Are-are you sure th-that was, uhh, just a j-joke?"

A nervous Harry and Ron. Great. Just what she needed.

"Yes," spoken quietly, "Yes, I'm sure."

They again shrugged, and looked suspicious.

She hunched down in her seat no longer hungry.

And she caught the eyes of a gazing Professor Snape.

Now feeling more unnerved than before, "Umm, you guys? I'm just, uhh, gonna go study, kay?"

And she rushed out of there before they could interrogate her.
