Silver was never too good with directions.
Even if the directions were as simple as "turn right and take a left" he would always somehow end up turning left and taking a right. So it was no surprise when he got lost during his first day at college. Well, not technically his first day, but this was the day before the first day to let the students get acquainted with their classmates and find their dorms.
It's just too bad that Silver didn't have any friends here yet to help him out.
Growing up in a small town of barely a thousand people had its advantages and disadvantages. Some advantages were everyone knowing each other, everyone being super friendly since they were all like a huge family in a way. One major disadvantage though was that Silver barely interacted with anyone outside the town. And since none of his old hometown friends were attending this school, that meant the grey-haired boy was completely alone.
Silver walked around campus for a while, lugging a huge suitcase full of his clothes and other belongings. Soon though he gave up trying to find his way to the main building and slumped on a bench outside the college's indoor gym. As he sat there, he looked around at several other students were walking around, chatting happily or laughing as they walked around the campus grounds. The albino teen was about to get up from the bench and just ask someone for directions when he was stopped by someone tapping on his shoulder.
"Hey, buddy! Why the long face?"
Silver turned around and saw a boy that looked about his age. He had slicked back dark blue hair and friendly green eyes. He was wearing a white shirt with a blue denim vest, a pair of black track pants, and a pair of red running shoes.
Silver rose from the bench, turning to face the newcomer, "Ah, well. I'm. . .kinda lost."
"Oh, trying to find the main building? I can help ya out!"
Then before Silver could even blink, the teen grabbed his arm and pulled him along as he ran through the grounds. Within a matter of seconds, they were in front of the main building and Silver was dumbfounded. This guy was really fast. The blue-haired boy shot the stunned teen a grin as he chuckled.
"Well, here we are! Name's Sonic, by the way."
Silver shook himself from his stunned trance as he gave a sheepish smile, "Thanks for helping me out, Sonic. I'm terrible with directions. My name is Silver."
Sonic smiled, "Nice to meet ya, Silver! Well, I gotta get going, but I hope we got some classes together! See ya 'round!"
With that Sonic was gone in a flash, leaving Silver alone in front of the doors to the main building. Smiling to himself, he realized he just made his first friend and he hadn't even officially started college yet.
"Maybe this won't be so bad after all."

Now with a schedule and a map of the campus in his hands, Silver made his way down to the dorms without any problems. Eyeing his schedule he saw classes began at nine in the morning tomorrow and he had Introduction To Literature as his first class. He wasn't the best at writing, but he wasn't worried as the class couldn't be that hard. Glancing up, he saw he was getting closer to his dorm and picked up his pace.
He made it to his dorm and put the key in the lock, twisting it. A click was heard and he pushed open the door and stepped inside. Looking around, he saw his dorm was a little bit bigger than his family's living room back home. It felt comfy enough if a bit crowded. The front door opened right in the bedroom, with a couple of hallways branching off towards other smaller rooms. Throwing his suitcase on the bed nearby, he went down the hallway to find the bathroom. Finding the restroom relatively easy, Silver glanced at himself in the mirror, as though seeing his face for the first time.
His silver-white hair was long and messy, with a couple of locks flopped over his golden eyes. Light teal markings on his cheeks glowed faintly as he stared. His skin was tanner than he remembered, but it was nearly the end of summer after all. He smiled at his reflection before he went to use the toilet. After washing his hands, he went back to the bedroom/living room and flopped down on the bed and let out a deep sigh, shutting his eyes as he laid there quietly.
His eyes snapped open when he heard someone unlocking the door. On his feet in an instant, he watched as someone pushed open the door and stepped inside. The intruder stopped short, halfway in the room, halfway outside as they saw Silver. Both stared at each other for a second before they yelled out in unison.
"What are you doing in my dorm!?"
