"Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes
Tell myself it's time now, gotta let go
But moving on from him is impossible
When I still see it all in my head"

It was three months after losing him. To Ana...it was like she lost a part of her. Dominic Vale was protecting his best friend and partner, but why couldn't that go through her mind to process? She stood there next to Nate and saw what was going down, but she didn't want to relive that whole day over again. As she waited for Nate to walk into his office, she leaned back into the chair and just sighed as she could hear his voice in her mind.

"Don't worry about me. I am doing fine."

Yet she didn't feel fine. She gripped onto the locket that was around her neck and sat up as she heard Nate walk into his office. Ana smiled and Nate sat down behind his desk.

"Hetty sent you here for your three month evaluation."

"I know Nate. Hetty seems worried that I haven't really let go from Dom..."

Ana chuckled as she slowly let go of the locket. Nate noted that in the file and he leaned back into the chair. Ana just eased up a bit and sat back slowly in the chair she was sitting in. Her chair wasn't as comfy as Nate's, but she was able to manage that a bit as she adjusted herself a little to the right.

"Have you let go?"

Ana closed her eyes and let that question sink in her head a bit. She didn't want to lie to Nate, but at the same time she didn't want to tell him the truth either. Ana didn't know what to do, and her hands started to shake a little bit. She tried to calm the shaking down by slowly breathing, but it didn't work. Nate looked on with concern, but Ana looked up at him and just smiled.

"I remember this one time that Dom was nervous about an undercover assignment. He came up to me and told me that Hetty wanted him to go undercover as a police officer. He was so scared that he would lose the button cam that he started shaking. I took him by the hand and I told him that things would be okay. That if he did lose the button cam that I would cover the cost...he came home that night frantic. Said he lost the button cam and that it would be two hundred dollars..."

Nate was writing somethings down in the file as she was speaking. Nate knew that she wanted to let go, but he also knew that she was engaged to be married to Dom and that it was going to be harder for her to let go.

"What happened after that Ana?"

Ana chuckled and cleared her throat a bit. The room felt a bit dry, but the air was on and she didn't have a bottle of water near by for her to drink. Nate smiled as Ana sighed.

"Let's just say we lived off of one pay check for a small bit. I had just started NCIS one month before Dom started. I was saving to move my family out here, but Dom had to pay for the camera. So I took out two hundred dollars from the account that I was using to save for my family and I paid for the button cam. Hetty doesn't really know about that...and I would like that to remain that way..."

Ana started to break out in tears. Nate noted one other thing in the file and then he closed it. He stood up and walked over to the other chair that was right next to Ana. He sat in it and took her hand. She smiled a small smile and Nate smiled right back at her.

"Professionally, I should take you off the team for a month. To let things cool down a bit. As your friend, if you ever need to talk I am here for you."

Ana smiled. She knew what Nate had to do and the two continued to talk for a while afterwards about everything that happened three months ago.
