"Clair!" I jumped up and almost hit my head on the ceiling of my hummer, I fully awoke to a freaked out K-Mart in the backseat. "What?" I looked around and saw nothing, then I looked back at her, "What K-Mart?" She was shaking, "I didn't mean to say that, I, I had a bad dream." I stared at her for a few moments, "Do you want me to come back there with you?" K-Mart nodded quickly, "Yes, please."
I crawled over the console into the backseat with K-mart, "C mere." I scooted close and wrapped my arms around her, K-Mart put her head on my chest, she was still breathing hard; but began to calm down slowly. "Are we ever going to be safe Clair?" This made me think hard, trying to find an answer for the younger kid, "You're safe as long as I'm here, I will never let anything happen to you."
I felt K-Mart nod on my chest, "I love you sis." I've never heard anyone say that to me, I mean Chris said it when we were growing up, but this made my heart go out for the girl, she looked up to me, like a big sister. "I love you to sis." I said and kissed the top of her head. K-Mart was out like a light after that, I went not to long after, that's the best sleep we both have had in a long time.
