Hi there, lovelies. It's #FinalsWeeks and because I'm a procrastinator, I started writing.

Every chapter will be from different POV. And yes, since I ship Blake/Hotch, this will be a Blake/Hotch story.

The POV for the prologue is from the defence attorney.

The plot will unravel as we go.

Prologue

The forty-something brunette limped out into the courtroom, wearing the typical orange jumpsuit. She looked disorientated, almost like she had no idea why she was there. Her right eyes was bruised, and she had a laceration on her forehead.

The court proceedings started, and everyone rose as the judge walked into the room.

"You may be seated." the judge said.

The courtroom was full of police officers. Not that it was surprising. Afterall, they were at a trial for someone who had killed a cop.

"And how does the defendant plead?"

I roughly pulled my client up, and she stumbled. That's when I noticed something red on the side of her prison jumpsuit. She looked down at her side and stared. I repeated the question in my client's ear.

"I think I've been stabbed."

I, shocked by what she just said, simply looked at her blankly.

"I think I've been stabbed." the woman murmured again.

Then, she collapsed.

Chaos erupted around me as I ran to her aid. She had just crumpled onto the floor, with her face angled away from everyone else. The red stain on her jumpsuit was growing at an alarming rate.

A gunshot or two were fired, and everyone just stopped, but I gave the woman in front of me my full attention.

"You're going to be ok." I whispered to her.

She slowly turned her head to look me in the eye. Her eyes were full of pain, fear, exhaustion and unshed tears. She took a shaky breath and whispered back:

"I don't think so."

Jesus Christ, this definitely wasn't how I wanted to start my morning.
