Percy was nervous. No, it wasn't due to a new prophecy or anything of the sort. It was because he had recently asked Annabeth on a date. He remembered the brief, yet awkward conversation, "Hey Annabeth!"
" Yes Seaweed Brain?" she replied with a small smile. "Err, uh" he stuttered, "Wouldyouliketogoonadatewithme?" he mumbled hastily. She gave him an odd look and then asked, " What did you just say Percy?". " I said if you would like to go on a date with me tommorrow?" He said, blushing furiously.
"Okay, sure." Annabeth replied smoothly. Her calculating stare unnerving him. " Oh well, uh, er, see you then." He said, visibly relieved.
Now as Percy waited outside the Athena cabin, he finally saw Annabeth comeout. She was dressed in a the usually orange camp shirt and worn denim jeans. Percy just stared at her, marveling in how beautiful she looked. " Close your mouth, you"ll catch flies" she said while chuckling.
"You look great Wise Girl," Percy said, " Well let's go I guess."
And as Percy and Annabeth started walking towards the lake, he built up the courage to grab her hand. Annabeth looked midly suprised then interlocked her finger in his as they walked off, Percy's nervousness flowing away like the tide.
