Loki walked in wearing his traditional armor though it was an ordinary day without fight. He always did. It was like earth's clothes didn't fit him. He had tried to wear some, but he always seemed uncomfortable in it.

Wanda greeted him with a nod and continued her conversation with Steve.

"So," Steve said and turned to the god, who dumped down in a chair. Loki death glared at the soldier and took a sip from Tony's coffee mug. If it had been anyone but Loki, Tony would have shot them through a wall immediately for drinking his coffee. But he seemed to appreciate to have this thing in common with the trickster.

"Ready for a new day?" Steve continued. Loki mourned and hid his face in his hands. All The Avengers shared a soft chuckle. Loki just finished his coffee and walked to the coffee machine for a new one.

"Oh, come on, sunshine," Tony said with his usual sassy voice. "What's wrong?"

Loki took a sip from the new steaming liquid and flashed his middle finger in Stark's direction. Then he turned to Wanda and sent her a soft smile, which made her cheeks turn pink. He knew, she loved, when his first smile of the day was meant for her. Loki raised his mug and winked at her. Wanda noticed that Stevet and Tony stared at them but she didn't care.

Loki grabbed an apple and started eating. Wanda accepted the croissant, Steve offered, as the rest of The Avengers walked in and settled down around the table. They ate croissants, drank coffee (especially Tony and Loki) or juice and small talked.

"Remember that mission where we found the one surviving Ultron? I honestly thought you where going to faint, Bruce."

"I wasn't, that's not true!"

"OH, my god, Nat, Budapest. HAHAHA."

"Hey, you guys remember Obadiah?"

"Yeah Tony, what happened to him?"

"Well, it's a long story, which Bruce already knows, haha."

The breakfast was as usual filled with flashbacks, secret revealings and good memories. Clint, Thor and Tony shouted loud, Natasha joining when needed. Steve tried to keep low profile, but hardly succeeded. Bruce would sit quietly with a peaceful smile on his lips and a cup of earl grey between his hands. Wanda and Loki would glance at each other and communicate without words.

As always after breakfast, they all stayed seated and continued talking. Loki stood up first and walked over with his empty plate. But when he returned, he didn't go back to his own seat. He stood behind Wanda's chair.

This is really happening, she thought.

They had been stealing moments alone for a long time. Wanda had wanted to tell the other Avengers, but Loki had been afraid, they wouldn't approve it because of his past. Now he was there behind her.

"I thank you for breakfast," he said and looked first at Steve, then at Tony.

Wanda stood up just beside Loki and then it happened. He framed her face with his hands, while she wrapped her arms around his neck. Then he pressed his lips against hers and it was just... It was home, it was safe, it was familiar. It was sparkles in her fingertips and an automatic smile on her lips. They broke apart and Loki walked out of the kitchen. Wanda settled down in her seat again with a stupid smile on her face.

She faced all the questioning looks but the thought of Loki's arms embracing her made her calm.

This was the future.

And she was happy about it.
