AN:-Am I the only one that finds it odd that I do not make nearly any mention of Mar'i in Five Years On? Well frankly I did. Then suddenly Nigtstar pops up goes Ahem and drags me into my headcanon past where I see her living part time on is that Themiscrya? Yup. She turns out she was in the Red, White, Gold and Blues before she joined the ranks of I'm too cool to be a sidekick and became Nightstar. Which is the second reason why her Nightstar outfit has bracers on her...
Another Path
Okay, picture this; a planet exploding and a worried parent placing their child in a capsule to save them, which crash lands on Earth.
What is an alien child to do?
Well, if you're Kryptonian… get adopted by the Kents.
But I'm not Kryptonian. I'm Tamaranian… Well – half, it's good enough.
So when I crash land on Earth, home planet of my own absentee father, you would think I'd want to live with him right?
Wrong.
He has his own family now, sure there's no mother but Alfred's cookies more than make up for that little fact… I think. But still; Damian, Alfred and Dick tried to be as welcoming as possible. Dick made me his ward a month after I arrived (I suggested that actually; he wanted to claim me as his daughter, I didn't want to cause a scandal so I insisted), didn't actually ask what I want though (which was to be given some time off, my birth planet crumbled around me. You would think I was a little unstable).
Yes, I don't call him Dad. I'd like to think of him as such and I do at times, but you know? It's a little weird. Give me some time, it might settle in (yeah, nearly three years, and I am still holding my breath about thinking of him as Dad the entire time).
Really though, I got annoyed after a while living with them. They were all night owls for one. And the toddler waking the Manor up every night! It's not that I don't like kids… (I WAS a 'tween after all) I just needed the space. And I would've liked a female person to talk to. Oh Steph came by every now and then during that month but it was a culture shock to go living with mainly females – women – to living with all males.
I think that's why when Donna and Cassie (not my aunt, the other one, Wondergirl) extended an invitation to follow them to Themiscrya, I jumped.
Themiscrya was wonderful, familiar territory and I felt more at home on earth than I had since I crash landed and kissed Damian.
Hey! It was only to see if I had my mother's abilities of language assimilation! I never got to test it out back on Tamaran before it blew up!
Okay… Fine. I was twelve, he was thirteen and I thought he was cute… vaguely.
So I went to live on Themiscrya. Five days a week actually… Dick insisted I come back weekends. He fed the media an excuse about an extremely private and exclusive boarding school so that I could stay there most of the time. I appreciate him for doing that.
So imagine my surprise when I found that Cassie was resigning as Wondergirl.
I must have looked weird because Diana (who had come to see the ceremony), Donna and Cassie all leapt in with an explanation.
It turned out years ago, when mum and Donna were talking jokingly, Donna promised that if something ever happened to my mum, she would help train me and my powers.
I said mum had shown me a few things.
Donna said that she could fine tune them.
I agreed.
Another month later and I found myself back at Titans Tower. I carried a lasso, and dressed in red, white, gold and blue.
With the blessing of the Amazons, I became Wondergirl.
AN:- See? A good reason for her to not be every Bat!Clan fic! :P Eastonia
