Don't even bother to ask me where this one came from. In my defence, I will say I was suffering from a sinus infection, sleep deprived, and it was 2 in the morning so I was likely delirious. VERY DELIRIOUS.

Disclaimer: I don't own either Stargate SG-1 or Farscape. Dammit!

Doppelgängers

"Whatcha doin', Princess?" Cam asked as he entered Daniel's office, the archaeologist nowhere in sight.

"Just channel sledding." Vala answered, never taking her eyes from the television screen as she tapped away at the remote.

"Surfing." he corrected automatically, briefly wondering how she'd convinced Jackson to allow her to put the device in his office.

He received no answer as she stopped on a single channel, tilting her head and creasing her brow. Taking a seat beside her, Cam looked at the tv to see what had caught her attention. Without realising, he mirrored her posture as he took in the action on-screen. It appeared to be some sort of sci-fi show, if the strange toad-like creature was anything to go by. Was that a puppet? It certainly looked real. When the camera panned away to another couple of characters, his eyes bugged out and he heard Vala gasp. He slowly turned to look at her, curious to see if she had noticed the same thing he had.

"Is it me or do those two look an awful lot like..." he trailed off, uncertain.

"Us." she finished for him.

They continued to stare at one another for a few moments before returning their focus to the show. Cam lost track of time as he became increasingly engrossed. He continued to be pulled in until suddenly the characters who looked disturbingly like himself and Vala started making out...amongst other things. He shifted uneasily in his seat as the scene grew hotter but he couldn't seem to look away. Finally he managed to tear his gaze away, glancing over at Vala only to find her staring wide-eyed at him. He hadn't realised just how close they were sitting until that very moment. He could actually feel her breath on his face and his body instinctively inched closer to hers. He watched, entranced, as her tongue shot out to lick her lips nervously. This was crazy, insane, completely ridiculous, but he couldn't seem to stop himself.

"Hey, guys. What's going on?"

Jackson's voice was like a bucket of ice water being dumped on them as they shot apart and Cam watched Vala quickly stand and practically run to the exit.

"Nothing is going on, darling." she told him a little too brightly. "We were just watching a television program but now it's over and I think I'll go see what Walter is up to. I hear he has a new betting pool open. See you boys later." She was out the door before either man could say a word, leaving Daniel staring at him in suspicion.

"Uh, yeah." Cam stuttered stupidly as he turned off the show and rounded the desk. "I think I'll go...take a run. See ya, Jackson."

Daniel stood speechless as he watched his team mates leave. He couldn't have see what he thought he'd seen...could he? Vala and Mitchell...Naw, that was just too weird. Dismissing the very idea, he settled down to work on his latest translation. At least those made sense.
